Sustainability Governance is implemented through a system of committees that manage rules, projects, and actions, overseen by dedicated working groups.
The B Corp Steering Committee, composed of members of the Ownership, the CEO, and the top management of the company’s Operational Board, is coordinated by the Sustainability Manager. It meets periodically and has the primary responsibility of guiding the Group's strategic decisions, including pursuing B Corp certification for the entire organisation, following the model of Sammontana S.P.A. Società Benefit, which is already certified.
Additionally, the Steering Committee engages with the Board of Directors through regular meetings aimed at constantly monitoring progress and ensuring that all initiatives align with the Group's shared objectives.
Members of Operational Board oversee the Technical Committees, which are made up of the Ambassadors of Smiles. These committees ensure that projects, actions, and operations remain consistent with the company’s strategic principles.
The various project streams are continuously monitored and supervised by the Sustainability Project Manager.
The Ambassador of Smiles are selected from across all departments for their sensitivity to sustainability issues and their knowledge of the strategy. They play a key role in promoting the culture of sustainability both within and beyond the organisation.
