Sammontana Italia is proud to announce the launch in the US market of its Sammontana “Gelati all'italiana” brand. The well-known Barattolino, which will have an offering specifically designed for the U.S. market, is the first iconic gelato product that strengthens Sammontana Italia's strategic development plan for the North American region. The plan leverages on the recent acquisition of La Rocca Creative Cakes and on the presence of the Bindi brand in the United States for over 30 years, which is now part of Sammontana Italia following the acquisition of Forno d'Asolo, carried out in partnership with Investindustrial, leading European group of independently managed investment, holding and consulting companies with €17 billion in raised capital. At the same time, the launch contributes to the realisation of some of the strategic objectives announced by Sammontana Italia earlier this year, aimed at strengthening and making the Sammontana “Gelati all'italiana” brand in the Ho.Re.Ca and retail channels, both in Italy and abroad, as well as expanding across international markets through organic and inorganic growth.
"With this launch we are bringing authentic Italian style and taste into the everyday lives of people in this country. We are honoured to share the company’s story and the quality of our products with new consumers, and to begin building a meaningful connection in the United States - a key market for Italian food brands and fully aligned with our development strategy" says Alessandro Angelon, CEO of Sammontana Italia.
Sammontana Italia, which is pursuing a path of significant growth in North America, makes its gelato debut in the United States starting from July, thanks to a partnership with Eataly USA, a company indirectly owned by Investindustrial, which also is carrying out a major expansion in North America. The partnership envisages the sale of the Barattolino gelato in the 11 Eataly retail locations across the United States. This collaboration celebrates the union of two iconic Made in Italy brands and their ability to represent the quality and innovation of Italian food around the world. The launch is the first step towards a broader expansion, with additional products and commercial collaborations planned in the months to come.
The official launch took place in New York from 29 June to 1 July 2025 at the Summer Fancy Food Show, North America's largest speciality food trade event, which is considered the Olympus of food shows worldwide. This is an important stage that marks the Group’s significant entry into the North American market.
